Register for a Schoology Account
To get started, go to Schoology.com and press the big, blue Sign Up Free! button on the left side of the page
On the next screen, choose the Instructor button in the middle.
If you are currently teaching at a school, your school should be listed. To find it, type the zip code and scroll through the list until you find it. Click on the name of your school and press Continue.
There is also a home school option for people who do not have a current teaching assignment, but would like to setup a teacher account.

Fill out the Sign-up form by entering your first and last name, your teacher e-mail address and a password you will not forget. Then press Register.
Once registered, you will come to your Schoology intro page. The first thing to do is create a course for your students to join. Click on the Create a Course link.
To setup a course, you need to decide on a course name. It's a good idea to put your name, subject and grade taught in your course name. For example, if your last name was Williams and you taught 6th grade science, you could call your course: Williams 6th Grade Science.
The section name is the name of the period (Period 1, 3rd Period, etc).
The grading periods are the six-week grading periods the course will be enrolled in. You may have to create these if they don't already exist. Then press the blue Create button to finalize your course.

NOTE: After you've created your course, you can add more sections to that course. Remember, the Course Name is your overall subject, while the sections are the periods that fall under that umbrella.
